The Green Party’s Breakthrough Moment | Acronym podcast #15

Ever since Bernie went bust and endorsed Hillary Clinton, Green Party Presidential Candidate Jill Stein has been riding a groundswell fueled by the #Afterbern. Now, let’s be clear: Jill Stein is not going to win the 2016 Presidential election, but you should vote for her anyway.

David Cobb, a 2004 Presidential candidate on the Green Party ticket talks with Dennis Trainor, Jr. about the ghost of Ralph’s Nader’s “success”, how the Jill Stein campaign can define victory without winning the White House, the perception of the Green Party as a club for older white hippies, and the need for a vibrant independent party of the left.

There is a phenomenon in the medical field where doctors tell their patients they have 3 months, 6 months, 12 months etc. left to live, to “get their affairs in order”, then 3 months, 6 months, 12 months etc later. – TO THE DAY – those patients pass away.

In the same way, Green Party supporters of Jill Stein and Ajamu Baraka for President and Vice President – by stating “we are not going to win the election of 2016” – are acting precisely like the doctors giving their patients powerful suggestions of death, and, without being conscious of it, regrettably, become the prime source of eventual self-defeat.

With mature, sober, wise and straight thought, speech and actions, the Stein | Baraka ticket can win the election – because the American people are also mature, sober, wise and straight. Those who hold that Stein | Baraka won’t win the 2016 presidential election have, for whatever the reasons, incorrectly assessed the profound level of global and historic yearning for truth, justice and peace – for an envisaged and then realized new world.

Please do not underestimate, miss, and/or turn away from the enormity of these moments remaining until November 8, 2016 – in particular the consequences of this time for men, women and children who will live on Earth in the future, up to the seventh generation. Seize the day.
